Pawan Kalyan Gets Served A Notice By Andhra Pradesh Mahila Commission For His Three Marriages Comment- REPORT
Andhra Pradesh’s Mahila Commission has served Pawan Kalyan a notice for his comments on marriages and alimony
South star and Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan has come under the scrutiny of the Andhra Pradesh Mahila Commission after his comments on his three marriages. The commission has demanded he apologise to the women and withdraw his statement. The president of the commission, Vasireddy Padma, on Saturday, issued a notice to the politician for his derogatory comments on women and the institution of marriage.
It all happened when Kalyan, on October 18, during a press conference in Vijayawada, shared that he had been married three times by paying alimony, which is in crores. He had also asked YSR Congress Party leaders to follow the same if they had the money.
President Padma shared that his perception of marriage has created an uproar in society and that his insinuation of getting a divorce by paying alimony is insulting. As quoted by The Hindu, she said, "Mr. Pawan Kalyan’s comments are insulting. Marriage is a tradition that has great respect in society. But the statement of the JSP leader is highly objectionable. It is unfortunate that a party president equates marriage and the sacred relationship between a wife and husband with money."
She went on to say that because he is also a celebrity, there is a greater chance that the youth will follow his words, endangering the lives of women. She also expressed that the JSP leader should apologise to women for his cheap comments. She said, "The JSP leader had made cheap comments against women. He should withdraw his statement immediately and tender an apology to women."
